Based on feedback from XTech 2005, we want to provide more time for attendees to meet and discuss issues around the technologies and policy areas they are working in.
We therefore invite proposals for discussion sessions, 90 minutes in length. Sessions will be facilitated by a chair, comprising invited panelists, to give short position statements, and attendees. The chair should be prepared to give a brief summing up and report for the purposes of the conference proceedings.
Panel discussion sessions are invited over the whole range of conference tracks (Applications, Browser Technologies, Core Technologies and Open Data), but should be of broad appeal and involve a significant portion of the audience. This is a good opportunity to focus on topics in which gleaning a wide variety of viewpoints and experiences is beneficial.
Submissions for discussion sessions should include:
- details of a willing chair (possibly yourself);
- strong ideas for other panelists;
- a clear and attractive summary of the discussion.
Marketing/promotional presentations will not be considered
for conference presentations (exception being product presentations).
The talks must be submitted online in the requested abstract
format and must be original work of professional quality.
Registration Discount Available to All Participants
All selected speakers and tutorial instructors will receive
one free registration/per presentation/tutorial for the conference
(16-19 May), provided their paper and/or handout is received
by the above deadline. In addition, all abstract submitters
not chosen for the conference are entitled to receive a $100
discount on their conference registration.
